ToughBooks

Off-lease $599 with a 90-day warranty  (Retails for over $3,000 new)

Have you seen the type of notebooks the Police use, you know, the one with the carrying handle that looks like a metal brief case?  They’re made by Panasonic and are appropriately called “ToughBook”.

Specs: Intel P4/1.4ghz w/2mb cache, 512mb ram (1.2gb max) and a 40gb hard drive.  It also has wifi, sound, usb 2.0, cd-rom, Windows XP Pro, 9-cell battery (rated at 7 hours but expect less).  It has a 13.3″ touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 768.

Did I mention that it has a touchscreen?  I can’t stress enough how cool the touchscreen is, it’s pretty slick.   The magnesium alloy case can withstand drops, water, beach sand and even a car riding over it.  These things are built to last which is why the Military and Police use these as standard issue.   If you’d like to see one before you buy, let me know and I’ll show you mine (of course I bought one for myself).

2.) We account for hours spent as they accumulate and when your block is down to a few hours remaining, we’ll offer you another one.  No expiration date.


The blocks are great for both parties because it discounts our services you’ll likely use anyway, plus it cuts down on the administrative process for us.  We send fewer invoices and you write fewer checks.
