Maintenance

We will troubleshoot, identify and eliminate bottlenecks and ensure stability to your network. If deficiencies are found, we will recommend a plan of action. Our on-site network services can usually be done on the same day or by the next business day.  We support only Microsoft-based operating systems.

Design and Installation

Network design is a specialty of ours. We will keep it simple, yet secure. We often hear customer feedback that their previous vendor had complicated their network design, making it difficult for them to perform simple maintenance on their own computers and servers , such as add a new user or change a password.

Network Design – 3 step process

Step 1.  Assessment Meeting

Part 1 – Function: At this meeting with the client we aim to understand their business, processes, and tasks.   The ultimate goal is to not only incorporate all business processes on the network, but also to offer some ways to improve productivity and automate tasks.

Part 2 – Size & Connections: Evaluate number of users, their use of the network, current data size, external connections required, current bandwidth and future growth plans to determine the size of network needed.

Step 2.  Plan and Design

We take what we learned from discussions with the customer in Step 1 to design a simple yet effective  network with industry-trusted components.  The plan and design include:

  • network infrastructure; includes cabling and other non-electronic components
  • network communications equipment; includes routers, switches & wireless
  • network operating systems, all versions of Microsoft Windows
  • network server, primary and other shared computers
  • client workstations & laptops
  • data backup solution
  • anti-virus & security assessment
  • battery backups & other power-related equipment

Step 3.  Review with Customer

We promise not to confuse you with tech talk. We will explain things to you in a simple manner that you will understand and review with you the proposed plan for your business.  We will discuss expectations, time lines and more importantly, what all this may cost.

Networking FAQ

Q: How do I know if my business needs a better network?

A: Basically, if you’re not happy with the performance or have known problems, like dropped connections, slow internet, constant rebooting, etc, you may be in need of a network assessment.

Q: Are networks expensive to upgrade and maintain?

A:  Not usually, there may be some costs associated with upgrading but not usually with maintaining.

Q: We’d like to set up network access so that we can access our work files from home.   What is involved in setting up remote connection? Is this possible and what can I expect?

A: To setup a remote connection between your house and the office all you need is a high-speed internet connection.  The type of information you need from out of the office will determine the type of solution we recommend.

Q: I’d like to set up a wireless network at my business.  Is this safe and will it be fast?

A: A wireless network is primarily used when a wired connection is not practical. There are several security settings that wifi offers and can affect the speed of what you’re doing.  Safe, yes, fast, it could be!
